Estée Lauder are known for their meticulousness, paying attention to all the tiny little details to create product ranges that are truly revolutionary. At the heart of the Advanced Night Repair range is the Intense Recovery Ampoules that contain an active oil concentrate for stressed skin.
Opening the box you’ll find a luxurious glass jar that contains 60 ampoules, a capsule with a twist-off top. The jar sits pretty on a dressing table but it is heavy so if you are travelling, I recommend taking the ampoules in a separate container.
To open an ampoule, turn it upside down whilst twisting the top off. This allows the sweet-smelling oil concentrate to run into your hand otherwise I found it can squirt everywhere! Squeeze out the whole ampoule and lightly massage over your skin using the tips of your fingers until it is absorbed. The concentrate contains apricot kernel oil, which is rich in Vitamin K, Vitamin E and Omega 6 fatty acids, to nourish and penetrate the surface of your skin allowing it to reach the blood cells. It also contains two other magical ingredients: Kukui oil, which contains vitamins and anti-oxidants that help to soothe dry skin and heal wounds; and squalene, which is known for its skin protecting effects.
I regularly use these Ampoules whilst travelling because they soothe and hydrate my skin overnight and relieve jet-lagged skin effectively. My husband, on the other hand, has used this over a longer period of time and he finds it particularly reduced irritation after shaving.
Estée Lauder recommends using these ampoules after using their Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II serum and I concur with this advice to receive the full restorative benefit to very stressed skin. However, you can use this ampoules in place of the serum before a moisturiser.
